The Redmi note 9 was launched back in April 2020 and it is not surprising that many still consider it a value for money smartphone. It costs 10,499 and it is good value for money, it comes with a 5020 MAH All Day Battery, Helio G85 Processor (Ironically the same one on the Galaxy M32 which costs way more and was launched this year), a 1080P LCD Display and a 48MP Main Camera. It came out of the box with MIUI 12, running on Android 10.

It is good to see that finally Android 11 has come to this smartphone, they have started rolling out the MIU I12 Update and Security Patch as well. The update official changelog is written below:
Changelog
Updated Android Security Patch to May 2021.
Increased System Security.
Stable MIUI based on Android 11.
Xiaomi Cloud Changes
Status Bar Changes
Notification Center to come with a shade, new look
‘GPS’ toggle is now renamed as ‘Location’.
Size: 4.6GB
Stable Fastboot
New Feature: Location info can now be reported automatically before the device is powered off.

Now that is a long list and looks like a lot of new stuff. Some UI Changes and redesigns, better Security and Stability. This is a 4.6 GB Update.
Of course, with MIUI 12 and Android 11, you get the whole slew of features that come with the eleventh version of Android.
To ensure a bug and hassle free experience, Xiaomi is rolling out this update in stages, so a wider update rollout will happen surely in the next few days, for all variants, Global, Indian, European, etc.
If you want to manually update your device, you can do that in your settings app. Tap on “about phone”. Look for “Check for updates” after tapping on the MIUI Logo.
Having said that, Let us know what are your thoughts on the Redmi Note 9 Android 11 & MIUI 12 Update. We will update you all if there is any news on MIUI 12.5, it is strongly rumoured to arrive in Q3 or Q4 of 2021.
Also, there is an upcoming Xiaomi event on 22nd June, which we are excited for, and we will definitely cover it extensively on our site.
Thanks a lot for reading.
