A hyperboloid display: that is what we have beem recently hearing from several reliable sources. Xiaomi launches their main flagship series at the beginning of the year and launches an experimental flagship model with crazy new features towards Q3 of the year. There were repoerts ralier that the Mi Mix 4 would have a Quad Curved Display. But now, this new report says that it will come with a Hyperboloid display.
This design kind of similar to the Mi 11. Several reports have confirmed that it will in display front camera. This under screen camera technology is already quite expensive. Adding a Quad Curved Hyperboloid Display will only make the manufacturing costs more expensive.
The design will look largely similar to the Mi 11 smartphone. The internals will definitely be upgraded. the truly bezel less uninterrupted display will make visual experience really good and it will be one of the best displays for content consumption.
This will ensure that the end user experience of the smartphone will feel very premium. The tre full screen, thanks to the under display camera is very revolutionary and will come to several mainstream smartphones in 2022.
However, this move will not come with zero compromise. Xiaomi will reduce the resolution from 1440P to 1080P in order to streamline the process and cut manufacturing costs. If the quality of the front camera needs to be decent, then we need to cut that corner. Front camera quality will now be retained, even with the in display camera.
Xiaomi’s under-screen front camera technology is very well developed. The pixel arrangement has greatly improved the display effect of the camera area. Using software optimization and a new camera algorithm, Xiaomi might be able to pull off decent front camera performance to this device.
Mi Mix 4, Expected Specifications:
We might see the new and Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, which is a faster and more efficient version of the Snapdragon 888. The Mi MIX 4 moght come with a 4500+ MAH Battery.
As far as charging speeds go, it will most likely suppor Wired 120W Fast Charging and 50+ Wireless Fast Charging. Some say 50W, some say 70W, so we are going to leave it at 50W+.
The refresh rate of the displays is currently unknown. We have covered the Mi Mix 4 leaks and rumours in much detail in these posts below:
Coming to something very important: The Price. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 might start at around 950$ when converted from Chinese currency. This will make it more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which is currently the most expensive Xiaomi smartphone.
With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, the company aims to bring under display cameras that retain photo quality to the mainstream smartphone market.
However, it is currently uncertain if this smartphone will launch globally. Initially, the launch will be China only. And we do not yet know if it will launch in India, because people here do not like experimental expensive smartphones. That is all we have for now. We will update if there is any more news.
With that being said, let us know what you think of this new design and form factor with the hyperboloid display on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. Does it look visually appealing? Will it launch globally and sell well? Will the front camera be able to retain picture quality? Do drop a comment down below.
