MIUI 13: Digital Chat Section is usually well known for reliable leaks. This time, we have a not so good news from them, that says MIUI 13 has been delayed by a couple of weeks. It was widely speculated to be launched by the end of August of by the third week of August. According to this new report, that is not the case.
Two devices were expected this month: The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, Mi Mix 4 and possibly a Mi CC Smartphone. According to the same report, these devices will not launch with MIUI 13 and will come with MIUI 12.5 itself.
Virtual RAM Expansion, better memory optimization, better RAM Management, redesigned control center, new UI and animations, and a better aesthetic are some of the rumors and leaks according to verified sources. The new UI and animations and the optimization and bug fixes are something we are excited for (the virtual RAM is nothing to be excited about, as we previously covered).
It is worth mentioning that MIUI 12.5 did nearly fix most of the past MIUI 12 issues like the bugs, poor RAM Management, optimization, consistency and cohesiveness, poorly aesthetic UI, glitches, advertisements, bloatware and Xiaomi alternatives to Google Apps. A lot of this has been addressed. It still does have some bugs here and there. We do we feel it can be much better than what it is right now. A redesign can really help.
Something else that we think do needs work is the POCO UI. The POCO launcher has more bugs than MIUI, and from many people, we have heard that the navigation gestures are buggy and inconsistent, and they have a lot of glitches. They can improve the POCO Launcher a lot more, because in its current state it is not that great.
MIUI 13 Allegedly Delayed: Why?
So why is Xiaomi delaying MIUI 13? A big reason might be to fine tune it, optimization it even further and iron out the final few issues that might have been found. It might also be to avoid MIUI 13 being mixed up with the other product launches since it might not get as much attention.
See, Xiaomi has seriously damaged the reputation of MIUI in the past and they have kind of made up for that with MIUI 12.5. MIUI 13 is another good chance they have to fix the problems with MIUI 12.5 and satisfy more users. If MIUI 13 is good, there might not be a reason to hate MIUI anymore. MIUI might get its reputation back, and MIUI might not be considered a “con” by reviewers. It is basically to get more customer approval.
So, in order to satisfy more people and also fine tune the UI in general, Xiaomi has delayed MIUI 13. We do not know until when.
There is an existing Android 12 Update Beta for Xiaomi developers which seems to be doing pretty well with minimal bugs and problems. The Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom along with the Poco F2 Pro have all been moved to internal testing in the Xiaomi Beta section according to some reports but it is not official so we do not have any validation for this and the original source claims it is from “internal sources”.
That is all we have for now. We will update if there is any more MIUI 13 news and if there is a definitive launch date. As of now, all that the leaks confirm is that MIUI 13 is not going to launch in August. Let us know what you think of this. Drop a comment, let us know if you think MIUI 13 will be good enough to restore the software reputation Xiaomi once had.
