This is a follow up post to the one we published a few days ago about the Mi Pad 5. Since then, there have not been many leaks about this product until now. Now, Chinese Weibo leakers have some interesting info about this upcoming tablet.
This device will allegedly come with a right angled design, similar to the iPad Pro. It will be thin and light. Reported to come with a side mounted fingerprint sensor, it will also come with a 120Hz 1080p LCD Display. This is only for the regular model. We have covered earlier leaks and more specifications and other details of this in another post which is linked below.
The Mi Pad 5 will obviously not be alone, it will be launched along with a Pro Model. Moreover, the leaks are pretty confident in saying that one of these devices will use the Snapdragon 870 and the other will use the Dimensity 1200, but which device will have which chip is currently unknown. Xiaomi might introduce their own stylus with the Mi Pads as well. The top end model is said to support 120Hz and a 1440P (2K) OLED Display.
According to other reports it will have a dual 4260 MAH Dual Cell Battery, totalling at 8720 MAH.
A launch date is not yet finalized, but it will mostly launch in July if everything goes according to plan. It might prove as a good competing tablet to Samsung’s tablets, the S7 and Plus, the regular iPad and the iPad Air. The Standard version will be a very practically priced device, which most people will buy.
From other sources, there are some more rumours but these are baseless and have no confirmation. There might be a new MIUI designed specifically for tablets. It might have a new UI Altogether with full screen gesture support. The Mi Pad 5 will have full screen 1080P. While the Pro might have 1440P.
Mi Pad 5 might have handheld PC Mode, Dual Drag and drop, several other multitasking features, parallel windows, conference features, etc.
It has been a long time since Xiaomi has introduced a new tablet into the market, so it will be nice to see how they price this one. I think it will be priced aggressively and create a ripple in terms of the tablet market, especially if it is launched in India. Realme is also planning to launch their tablets in India, so these might be direct competitors to that and it makes a lot of sense to launch practically priced tablets in India.
We think it will be priced around 400-500 Dollars, which is between 28,000 and 35,000 Rupees for the base model, when roughly converted from Chinese currency. If they manage to price it between 25,000 and 30,000, then it will be a really good deal. We think Xiaomi might make an instant impact if they enter the tablet market.
With that being said, let us know what you think about these new leaks, and how much do you think is good pricing for this tablet. Do you think it will launch in India? We will update in case there is any more news.
Thanks a lot for reading.
