The Redmi Note 11S was announced on 26th January 2022 alongside the other phones in the Note 11 Series: the Note 11 Pro 4G, the Note 11 and the Note 11 Pro 5G. Global prices are usually much higher than Indian prices, and the Redmi Note 11S globally was priced at 18,499 Rupees when converted, which is about the same price as the Xiaomi 11i.
If the Redmi Note 11S launches at 18,499 in India, it will get crushed by the competition, especially from Realme and also Xiaomi’s own phone, the Note 10 Pro which might receive a price cut, bringing it down to 16,000. So the pricing here needs to be much more competitive than that if they want to sell any meaningful amount of units.
Redmi Note 11S: Expected Pricing
So an anonymous tipster (internal sources of Xiaomi Central) has told us the pricing for the Note 11S and it seems to be not very competitive pricing because of the major drawbacks. You lose the TeleMacro lens and also get a worse overall chipset compared to the Note 10 Pro (G96 vs 732G).
So the price of the base variant is said to start at 16,999 INR for the 6GB RAM, 64GB Storage option, then the 6GB RAM and 128GB Variant was tipped to be priced 17,999 INR. An 8GB variant is also expected on the way, which might cost 19,999 INR.
The Note 11S has other nice specs like a 90Hz OLED display and a 108MP Main Sensor (8MP Ultrawide, 2MP + 2MP Useless Cameras). Comes with 33W Charging and a 5000 MAH Battery, Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. It runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 11 and comes with the 12nm G96 chip which is the biggest downgrade from the Note 10 Pro because that had the much better 732G.
The pricing for the first two models is actually semi-acceptable, but whether the phone is considerable at that price or not will be determined by the upcoming Realme 9 series of phones and how competitively those will be priced, and also by some of Xiaomi’s own phones.
The leaker has also told us that the Redmi Smart Band Pro will be priced under 5000 INR. An introductory price of 2,999 is expected which is very very good pricing and undercuts a lot of smart watches in this under 5000 category. (Update: our tipster has informed us that the launch price of Redmi Smart Band Pro will be either INR 3999 or INR 4499)
The watch, to recall, has a whopping 1.47in screen size, with an AMOLED display with 450 Nits of brightness (194*368 Resolution) and 50+ Band Faces. It also has a bunch of fitness modes (110+) and 50M Water Resistance Certification, 24 Hour Heart Rate monitoring, SPO2 and sleep quality tracking, stress level tracking, etc.
It comes with magnetic charging too and is claimed to last 14 days with typical use and up to 20 days with the power saver mode turned on. You can download the Xiaomi wear app to sync data with your phone. It also has other useful features like music playback, displaying phone notifications, weather forecast, find my phone, incoming call notifications, etc which are all the typical smartwatch features you expect.
Since you are getting all these features with good battery life and a great OLED display, under 5000, let alone 3000 Rupees is excellent pricing for this smart band. The Note 11S though, the pricing seems to be pretty average at the moment but then we have to wait and see how that price ages when competing products are launched. Let’s hope there are card offers and discounts and something like early bird pricing to bring the price of the Note even lower.
Please note that this is just a leak from our internal sources and this should not be taken too seriously, there is no official confirmation from Xiaomi about the Indian pricing.
So that is all we have, for now, let us know what you think of the pricing of the Note 11S in India, does this make sense? Personal thought: It makes no sense to launch both the 4G Version of the Note and the Redmi Note 11S in India, because they are too similar, it is better to launch the 5G version at a competitive price instead, but oh well. Xiaomi should really focus on lower models next year because all 4 phones here are way too similar to one another. Not literally the same, but you get the idea.
