The Reactivated MI Mix Series: Rumours of the Mi Mix 4 Surface Online!

Xiaomi might revive the MI MIX Series with an uninterrupted display and 120 W Charging on the MI MIX 4! Read on to find out more....

In the Mix series of Xiaomi smartphones, Xiaomi has not launched anything mainstream for a long time. They did Mi Mix Foldable, but that is not a regular smartphone geared towards majority of the users, right? There are a lot of leaks, of course, while not 100% authentic or verified, we can still rely on these leaks.

Two prominent leaks say that it will come with the fastest charging ever on a smartphone: 120 W Wired and 50 or so Watts Wireless charging. The other leaks point towards MIUI 13. In the coming months (Q3 of 2021), Xiaomi will most likely release a new generation of MIX Smartphone, returning that series to the mainstream market after three full years. A lot of rumours say that it will also come with an in display front camera and a full sized bezel free screen.

Giz China, Weibo and other sources give us some more information, but this is not confirmed. They say it will come only with one variant, no pro or ultra variants, just one Mi MIX 4. Except for the in display camera and full screen display, the pricing was also rumoured to be kind of more than their existing flagship: The Mi 11 Ultra.

It might cost 1000$ or more, which is like 75,000 Rupees in India.

This is expected though, given what kind of insane specs you are getting.

Some more leaks from Giz China say it will not have 2K (1440p) ultra high resolution display, because the in display front camera technology is really new and is still in development, and it is a no brainer that is very complex and expensive, a lot of money needs to be spent on R&D. The company might use a display that is more than 1080p in resolution, but less than 1440p, kind of like apple does with their larger pro max lineup. Visually though, nobody can tell a difference.

To make up for the slightly lower resolution, the company will use a four frame equal width design, which will look really even, modern and sleek. It will be a true full screen display with a front camera under the display, to provide a bezel free viewing experience, making content consumption really good.

There are some more leaks and rumours, but these are baseless and have no confirmation, but I think they are worth mentioning. Some sites report that it will use a Snapdragon 888 Processor and a 4500 MAH Battery, with 120 W wired charging and an AMOLED 120 HZ Refresh Rate display. No info is given about the cameras yet.

To summarize:

  1. Snapdragon 888 Chip
  2. Very fast charging (120 W) and a 4500 MAH Battery
  3. 100% Full Screen, Bezel Free, Uninterrupted Display
  4. 120 HZ AMOLED
  5. MIUI 13
  6. Possibly Priced 1000$ +

So with that being said, let us know what you think of the leaks of this Mi MIX 4. Do you think it will be good? We think, if Xiaomi, a mainstream company, adopts an in display front camera and actually gets the tech right, resulting in good quality images too, other companies will definitely follow suit. This is a good thing. It might be a 20 or 32 MP Camera, but not much info is known.

Also, there were reports that Xiaomi has hired a Pioneer team (which we covered in the article to which the link is below), so this new MIUI 13 might refine, optimize and fine tune MIUI, making MIUI 13 on the MI MIX 4 really good. We will update if there is any more news. Also, make sure to check out the Xiaomi event on 22nd June, which will have a lot of exciting releases, we will definitely cover all of them here.

Thank you so much for reading.
