The Xiaomi 12 series is just around the corner and isn’t far from being released in its native country, China. In this post, we will look at all of the Xiaomi 12 smartphone’s leaked specifications. When it comes to the Xiaomi 12, it succeeds the Mi 11 series of smartphones and brings many improvements to it. The device will be a true flagship beast from Xiaomi, at least when it comes to the new hardware.

Xiaomi 12: Leaked specifications

In terms of leaked specifications, the Xiaomi 12 could have a stunning 6.3-inch curved OLED Panel with 120Hz variable refresh rate support (LTPO Panel). Supports HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. The supplier for this panel is apparently TCL. 12 Bit Color Support is rumoured but we cannot say for sure, we expect a 10 Bit Panel, it just seems more likely they would reserve 12 Bit for the Pros.

Gorilla Glass Victus is most likely the glass protection. Then we have more info that the panel has been downgraded to a 1080P one and not 1440P, but it is not a big deal because the Pixels Per Inch count is still good, and on a 6.3in compact phone, the difference is barely perceivable anyway. And the display also got an A+ certification from display mate. Xiaomi has also teased “16,000 levels of brightness” and “supreme colour accuracy”.

It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The rear camera will supposedly have a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.28″ sensor, f/1.9 aperture,OIS), a 13MP ultra wide lens (123 Degrees), and a 3X telephoto lens that also helps in portraits. There will be a 20MP selfie camera housed on the punch hole cutout.

It might be powered by a 4500mAh battery and can be recharged via 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. In terms of connectivity, it will include the most recent Bluetooth V5.2, WiFi 6, NFC, and 5G/4G/3G network support. Of course it has got stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Considering the Mi 11 Ultra had one of the best speakers on a phone, this will be just as good.

Below image shows one of the newly leaked renders of this phone and it is smaller than last year’s Mi 11, and the screen does not seem to be as curved, but that is a huge camera layout and it is good that the third camera is a proper telephoto lens and not a gimmicky depth/macro sensor or a monochrome sensor.

The phone will run the much anticipated MIUI 13 out of the box. On paper, the device’s specifications look very appealing, and we anticipate that it will perform just as well as its specifications indicate. We have all the flagship stuff like an IP Rating, premium materials, OIS, wireless charging, fast LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 Storage, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G and Wi-Fi 6.

As for the pricing, the Chinese pricing of the device has already been leaked on the internet. The base variant, the 8GB RAM, 128GB Storage one, will apparently be priced at CNY 3699 (Approx Rs. 43,500), the 8GB RAM, 258GB Storage variant will be priced at “CNY 3999” (Approx Rs. 47,500), the high end 12GB RAM, 256GB Storage variant will be priced at “CNY4399” (Approx Rs.52,000). This is really good pricing considering there are almost no good smartphones at that price in India. The Indian launch of the device is expected to happen in Feb or March 2022. We are unsure if this will launch globally yet.
