A Xiaomi official teased the company’s upcoming top of the line flagship device, Xiaomi 12 Ultra. He claimed that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will achieve higher rankings in DXOMark camera rankings.

Xiaomi 12 Might Top DXOMark; Here’s Why?
Wang Teng, General Manager at Xiaomi China on Weibo shared a timeline about their virtual live conference. He said that many surprises will be unveiled at this event. One of these might reveal details about Xiaomi 12 Ultra which will be the company’s upcoming flagship device with the most powerful camera system. This camera system will be integrated with the company’s own software algorithm. The official also revealed that the handset may achieve top position in the DXOMark ranking.
Its predecessor Mi 11 Ultra, was the first smartphone to feature the GN2 50MP custom image sensor developed in collaboration with Samsung. Because of this, the device achieved higher rankings in the DXOMark listing. So, the company may try to repeat the same with Xiaomi 12 Ultra as well.
To date, Xiaomi 11 Ultra comes within the top 3 spots in the DXOMark camera listing. Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to feature a new custom image sensor which is being developed in a joint venture by Xiaomi and Leica. Leica is well known for its camera lens and had worked with Huawei for the cameras of its flagship smartphones in the past.
