Xiaomi Event: The biggest event for Xiaomi his year is happening today (28 Dec 2021). In China, it is at 7:30 PM, and according to Indian Standard Time, that’s 5 PM. We have already talked a lot about the products that will be launched because everything was extensively leaked, and a lot of info was marketed by Xiaomi on Chinese microblogging platforms. We have another addition to the product portfolio, the Xiaomi True Wireless Earphones 3.
Just to recap, we have the Xiaomi 12, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a 6.3 Inch 1080P AMOLED Screen, 120Hz refresh rate, triple camera setup. Then a more affordable version called the Xiaomi 12X which is basically the Xiaomi 12 with different cameras and a Snapdragon 870 chip (wireless charging might or might not be there, but this source claims it will be).
We also had reports about the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which has a bigger 2K OLED display, a really similar design and also better cameras.
The Xiaomi Watch S1 which is a premium smartphone will also be announced during this event. It is currently unclear if this will run WearOS, or if it will have LTE Capabilities, not much is known except that it will have two buttons on the right-hand side, and it has a circular design that reminds us of the galaxy watch. It will most likely be a feature-packed smartwatch.
Then of course, at least for us, one of the key highlights will be the unveiling of MIUI 13 and what they have done to ensure stability.
According to previous reports, we will have more stable first and third party apps, an overall more stable UI with less bugs, especially because they did hire a pioneer team to iron out inconsistencies and bugs in MIUI, then there seems to be focus on multitasking with a better sidebar and more interactive widgets, also stability and fluency obviously enable better multitasking.
Then there is the redesign with new icons and of course more wallpapers, possibly a new font to make it look modern, new widgets, better animations and a redesigned app vault. Except for this, it will be largely similar to MIUI 12.5. To read the compilation of info we have about MIUI 13, read the article linked below.
New pricing leaks say the Xiaomi 12X will start at 40,000 which is way higher than the initial reports that said 35,000. The Xiaomi 12 is said to start at 50,000 and finally the 12 Pro at 59,000. All models are to start with 8 Gigabytes of RAM and 128 Gigabytes of storage, and they all go up to 12 Gigabytes of RAM and 256 Gigabytes of Storage.
About the True Wireless earphones 3, not much is known except that they will have “Hi-Fi Sound” and they might or might not have Noise Cancellation, but there is said to be Noise “Reduction”.
How to watch the Xiaomi Event?
The event will be streamed via third parties on YouTube for sure and also on Weibo (but you need a VPN to access it outside of China, and I doubt anyone from China is reading this) but there is an easier way to watch the event.
